Themed Spring into Surry Hills, this year kicks off from 13 September with a series of activations in Ward Park, Devonshire and surrounds. Celebrating founding of SHNCs during the era of Flower Power (late 1960s/70s), SHNC’s role in connecting communities, seeding opportunities for locals and creatives to flourish.
We are seeking bold, inspiring and engaging works for stages, walls, lanes, shopfronts and pop up spaces across event sites, in local businesses and venues. Preference will be given to works celebrating Surry Hills stories, community and heritage, spring, flower power and people power themes. Creatives will work with Festival producers and community to overlay Devonshire Street and surrounds with a trail of vibrant and engaging installations transforming the heart of Surry Hills into a network of kaboom inspiration and discovery… for the Spring into Surry Hills initiative, running over ten days, 13 to 23 September.
On Saturday 22 September, Surry Hills Festival will culminate in a fantastic spring celebration with great live music, interactive arts, creative trail tours, markets and loads more.
